I moved to Ely with my family in 2013 from South Manchester. Previous to living in Manchester I studied in Leeds and grew up in the North East of England.
In 2004 I completed a Higher Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Leeds Metropolitan University.
Since Graduating from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 (BA hons) in Psychology and Media I have focused on a career that I am passionate about; supporting individuals and families to work to improve their quality of life and relationships.
In my previous roles I have worked in secondary schools, GP surgeries, visited people at home, worked in the community and in a family assessment centre.
In one of my most recent roles as a Mental Health and Counselling Project Worker at Centre 33 (2014 -2018) I trained and managed volunteer counsellors who practiced in the community and in local secondary schools.
I set up my private practice in October 2017 and have since had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients with a diverse range of issues. I absolutely love the work that I do and feel privileged to work with every client that I meet.
I keep my Continuing Professional Development up to date by reading, training and taking new qualifications.....
The latest training course I went on was a two day course in August 2019 in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
The last therapy book I read was The Body Keeps The Score, Mind Brain and Body in the Transformation of Trauma by Bessel Van Der Kolk.
I am currently taking a qualification named Family Lives in The Therapeutic Space which is accredited by Play Therapy UK. I shall complete this course in October 2019.
I am currently training n EMDR which is a treatment to support trauma reprocessing.
