About Me

My Counselling Philosophy

Hi I am Helen, I meet every person who I work with as an individual who has a unique experience of life and experience of relationships.

You are the expert on yourself and on your life. I am here to offer therapeutic support to help you to work through issues that are causing you distress.

My Qualifications and Professional Background

I am a registered and accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I offer private counselling sessions to children, young people and adults.

I also currently deliver therapeutic support to group sessions on behalf of Arts and Minds.

I work part time in the Mental Health and Counselling Team at Centre 33. I train and manage sessional and volunteer counsellors and provide assessment and counselling to children and young people in schools and in the community in East Cambridgeshire.

My experience of working therapeutically with adults comes from volunteering at Mind in Cambridgeshire and at a placement in a GPs surgery in Leeds.

I graduated in 1999 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Psychology and Media from the University of Leeds. I completed a Higher Education Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling skills in 2004 from the Leeds Metropolitan University. I have spent my career working with children, young people and families in assessment, support and counselling roles.

I hold a current DBS  check and have regular training in safeguarding as well as training to fulfil my continuing professional development.
